Welcome Baby Cricut Card

I love babies. I especially love a good baby shower. Whether you’re bringing a gift to an expecting mom or planning a shower for her, this Welcome Baby Cricut Card is perfect for the occasion. It’s from Cricut’s Simple Everyday Cards cartridge, which has this design as well as five other baby-themed designs to choose from. What’s great about making your own cards is you get to customize the colors and prints that you use. If you know the gender, you can pick colors to celebrate that. If you’re making shower invitations, you can choose colors to match your decorations. You can also make custom envelopes to coordinate with the cards. I love all the possibilities!

Step 3: Select image F2+2 (the envelope), set the height for 9.611 inches, and cut on the coordinating cardstock. You have to make sure to make the envelope slightly larger than the card so it will fit. You may want to practice this cut on scrap paper to make sure you cut it large enough. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve messed up on the envelopes. Hint: it rhymes with schmevery chime.

TIP: If you are using striped paper for the envelope, put it on the mat so that the stripes are running up and down, not left to right. Otherwise, it will look odd.

Step 4: Fold the outside cut of the card along the notches.

Step 5: Apply glue to the back of the cut-out design and stick the liner to it as shown.

Step 6: Fold the envelope along the notches as shown.

Step 7: Tape the bottom flap to the two side flaps. You will seal the envelope closed with glue, tape, or a sticker once you’re ready to hand them out.

That’s it! This Welcome Baby Cricut Card is super easy to make and I like the clean, modern design of the cut. Plus, you can type up and print  a sentiment or invitation details to suit your needs.  I chose the purple and teal so they weren’t the same old pink and blue we usually see. I also went with beige instead of white or ivory because white just looked too plain for such bright colors. What colors would you choose for your cards?
